To make the ruffle I just cut 2 long strips of the purple merino and sewed down the middle on my longest stitch. Tie a knot in the threads with one end, keeping the other end long. Pull the bottom (bobbin) thread (on the end that you didn't tie a knot) with one hand and push the ruffle down with your other hand.

Ruffle Top
This ruffle top is a black merino singlet with purple merino ruffle. I have been wanting to do a ruffle top for ages and I am really happy with how this turned out. I think its really cute.
To make the ruffle I just cut 2 long strips of the purple merino and sewed down the middle on my longest stitch. Tie a knot in the threads with one end, keeping the other end long.
